Many Facebook pages have them, others don’t. Today, we will talk about landing tabs and their importance on a Facebook page.
We get asked very often from our clients: “What are Facebook landing tabs? Should we use them on a Facebook page and why?"
We decided to use some of our data from Socialbakers and do a little study on landing tabs. We wanted to find out whether having landing tab helps companies convert more Facebook users to their fans and thus raise their fan base more and quicker than pages without landing tab.
So what exactly is a landing tab?
Landing tab is a tab on your Facebook page which is shown to the visitors of your page that are not yet your fans. Instead of directly showing a Wall to the visitors, it is much more appealing to show a nicely designed tab which will introduce your page, give initial information of what the page is about and will show a call to action to become a fan of your page.
What we found out?
Using Socialbakers database we found out that using landing tabs makes your pages grow faster on average then for those that don`t have them.
We took all brands from the Fashion sector and compared their fan growth in the last couple of months. We splited selected pages into two categories – Facebook pages with a landing tab and Facebook pages without it. When we compared these two categories in terms of Fan Growth, we found out that Facebook pages with landing tabs rose approx. 38% faster than pages without a landing tab!
Soon, we will be evaluating Facebook pages in other market sectors as well to see if there are any major differences.
