Avast Software, a.s. signed on as Socialbakers’ 1 000th customer just as they themselves welcomed their two millionth fan on Facebook. Our two companies celebrated these milestones in the same week with a pledge to serve customers better through the creation of an Avast social media listening post. Avast Software is a leader in the security software industry, protecting over 165M active devices around the globe by offering free antivirus software and they have recently teamed up with Facebook to prevent malware-infected links being shared unknowingly by Facebook users.
In over 75 countries across every continent, Socialbakers’ Analytics empower companies to measure and benchmark their social media presence with competitive intelligence. In today’s market of social media monitoring, Socialbakers products offer unprecedented value for customers and prove to be the de-facto partner of choice for businesses around the globe.
“We are very proud to have Avast as our 1 000th customer. Avast is helping to make the worldwide online community a better, more productive and virus-free ecosystem,” said Jan Rezab, Socialbakers’ CEO, and continued, “We aim help marketers around the world better understand and optimize their social marketing performance to deliver clear and tangible ROI for their effort.”
Avast: “Our Customers Were Naturally Online”
In 2008, Avast launched its Facebook page followed by a blog and, along with other global companies venturing into unknown waters, thought about how social media could fit into the company’s overall business strategy. Since their customers were naturally online; exchanging tips, recommendations and reviews about their products, they decided to get in on the conversation. By joining the online dialogue, they hoped to raise brand awareness, increase engagement, strengthen their reputation, and bring avast! Free Antivirus to more people around the world.
“Social media is an important communication channel for us,” said Vince Steckler, CEO of Avast. “We are committed to our 165 million users by going where they are in order to serve them better. And lots of them are on social media.”
Listening Provides Invaluable Feedback
Over the last four years, communication between Avast and their customers has continued to grow on their forums, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts. The avast! forums have 270,000 members, the avast! antivirus Facebook has over 2 million likes, the @avast_antivirus Twitter feed has 70,000 followers, and Google+ has 14,000 fans. Avast senior management recognize that listening, responding to and taking care of customers is an advantage, and that the feedback they receive is invaluable to the improvement of their products.
Last month, in the same week that Avast reached the milestone of 2 million likes on Facebook, Mr. Steckler approved the creation of a social media listening post using Socialbakers’ powerful suite of analytical, listening and publishing tools. A small, but dedicated community team works on communications, content creation, customer care, and marketing from Avast headquarters in the Czech Republic and a satellite office in the United States.
Socialbakers Helping Monitor Thousands Of Online Conversations
“Socialbakers helps us monitor thousands of online conversations about our products and services on a global scale in real time,” said Steckler. “This allows for timely review and response to social media posts and content. We look forward to a long, productive relationship.”
Jan Rezab continues, “Socialbakers is the only data provider in the industry to reach 1 000 customers, as we provide scalable analytics solutions for the right price, meeting the expectations of huge enterprises and small businesses alike. With their 165 million users, Avast is an excellent example of a company with a gigantic base, that can easily generate a huge return with little overhead in social media,” he concludes.
