  • About Pete Mitchell

    Originally hailing from a traditional media background, Pete worked for the first ten years of his career for JWT and Carat as a Strategic Media Planner in the UK located in his native Manchester and then in London.

    In 2000 he moved exclusively into digital media when he was one of the founders that launched Outrider in the UK. For the next seven years, he was as a key member of GroupM’s digerati. During his time there he ran blue chip finance, travel, property, automotive, entertainment and FMCG clients across the UK and EMEA.

    Pete moved to Asia in July 2007 and joined IPG Mediabrands, where he was APAC Digital Strategy Director based in Bangkok. There he worked on J&J and Coke brands across all Asia markets; plus, Best Weston and Hyundai Kia during a 6-month placement into the US based in LA.

    In 2009 Pete was recruited by Ogilvy. He moved to Singapore and was made Regional Strategic lead across Asia for neo@ogilvy and there he worked on SAP and Amex across APAC and South Asia.

    For the last two years, Pete has been based in Chicago as the Global Digital Media lead for BP/Castrol at Mindshare.

    He returned to Singapore in January 2014 and joined Mondelez International in the Global Media Team as Director of Global Media Innovation.

    Pete has built up a wealth of experience and knowledge across both traditional and digital media channels working on direct response and FMCG brands over four different continents stretching back 25 years.

    As well as being a passionate Manchester City supporter, Pete is a keen golfer and Scuba Diver.

  • About Chris Reitermann

    Chris has been with the Ogilvy Group for eighteen years with experiences across a range of disciplines, Clients and geographies.

    After a career in banking and a degree in Finance and Marketing Chris joined Ogilvy Direct in London. From there he moved to Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in Taiwan spending 4 years managing a mix of local and multinational Clients.

    In 1999, he moved to Beijing to set up OgilvyInteractive in China, turning the agency into the largest digital and customer engagement agency in China with over 500 staff, winning along the way China’s first Cannes Lion and Asia Pacific Digital Agency of the Year.

    In 2009 he took on the additional role of managing the Ogilvy & Mather Group in Shanghai and In 2012 he was promoted to oversee Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in Asia Pacific.

    His latest venture is a product and brand innovation agency called K1ND (pronounced OneKind), which was established in Singapore and China. K1ND is combining brand knowledge and technology to innovate and connect products and services for Clients.

    Chris sits on the Advisory Boards of several internet businesses in China and writes regularly about digital and brand marketing.

    A specialist in online strategy creation and development, Matthijs has been with L’Oreal for almost 8 years. Though he is now the Global Head of Digital for Maybelline New York and a proud employee of the world’s #1 Cosmetics brand, Matthijs was once a long-time sports journalist for the Netherland’s best regional newspapers. He is a long-distance runner and a film buff.

    Mr. Luca Deplano is Vice President of Brand Communications for Shangri-La. He is responsible for defining the communication strategy for the Shangri-La and Kerry brands. He joined the Group on August 19th, 2014, from Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, where he was Vice President of Marketing. Luca brings with him over 18 years of experience in business development, as well as strategic planning in the sales and marketing of products for brands like American Express, Prada, Furla, and Cerruti 1881, in both Asia and Europe. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bologna University, Italy, where he majored in Marketing and Finance.

    As a marketing professional with over 25 years in Client and Agency management roles, Rod has brought significant value to a range of companies over his 16 years in Asia including Grey Direct InterActive in Malaysia, an independent RM agency in New Zealand, and Proximity - the data, digital, and direct arm of BBDO - in Singapore. Rod currently heads up Lenovo’s Digital and Social Media Centre of Excellence in Singapore where he is responsible for Social Media Marketing, globally. Clients range from British American Tobacco, Shell, Tiger Beer, Oracle, Visa, Citibank, and HP. Additionally, Rod is recognised by the CMO Council as one of the Top 20 Digital Marketers in 2013.
