The  Memphis Grizzlies   entered the NBA as an expansion franchise based in Vancouver in 1995. In 2001 they moved to their current home in the city of Memphis.  Grizzlies Majority Owner Michael Heisley spearheaded both the move to Memphis and construction of the $250-million, state-of-the art FedExForum. Which is now home to both the Memphis Grizzlies and the University of Memphis Men's Basketball Team.In 2010, the Memphis Grizzlies tipped off their 10th Season in Memphis that included their first Playoff appearance in five years. In addition, the team earned their first franchise Playoff win on April 17, 2011 against the San Antonio Spurs, and advanced to the Western Conference Semi-Finals to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. In 2009, the team selected the 2nd pick overall in the 2009 NBA Draft.This season's team set the court on fire with the fourth best season in franchise history.The 2008-09 NBA season marked the 14th season in Grizzlies history, eighth in Memphis and fifth in FedExForum.
