Four years ago, as she approached her first birthday, Georgia was diagnosed with a rare kidney cancer called Wilms’ tumour. After nearly a year of gruelling treatment including months of chemotherapy, surgery and a life-threatening infection during her treatment, Georgia received the thumbs up from her doctors as her parents were told the great news she was in remission. While just 59 per cent of children survived Wilms’ tumour in the early 1970s, 95 per cent now survive. Thanks to your support, our scientists and doctors played a key role in improving treatments for Wilms’ tumour. But there’s still so much more to do for this and other childhood cancers. With your help, we can and will do more to ensure as many children as possible survive cancer. Please share this post with your friends and family.
