Will The Gangnam Style Video’s 1,000,000,000 Views Be Celebrated with an Apocalyptic Meteor Shower?

Korean k-pop idol PSY has replaced Justin Bieber from the top of the YouTube chart in just four months thanks to his Gangnam style video clip. It now has over 990,000,000 views and over 6,000,000 likes. Even Justin Bieber may envy him how fast he was able to reach such a record.

Will The Gangnam Style Video’s 1,000,000,000 Views Be Celebrated with an Apocalyptic Meteor Shower?

The incredible speed with which the Gangnam Style video conquered the world is incredibly surprising. The video clip of Justin Bieber’s – “Baby” ft. Ludacris, has been on YouTube since February 2010, but PSY’s video has only been present on YouTube since July of this year. However, there has also been some criticism towards YouTube, since fans have noticed that YouTube has deleted the video from the charts for a few days without any apparent reason. There have been speculations on whether this incidence has been just an unfortunate mistake or an aim to wither PSY.

Nevertheless, thanks to YouTube, PSY has become a celebrity, notwithstanding the fact that he may not be as attractive as Justin Bieber and he doesn’t sing like Whitney Houston. PSY’s popularity can be credited to a catchy rhythm, a brilliant idea, energy, and a bit of luck in its initial stages, but then social networks took over the job. He succeeded in making a video crazy enough to intrigue and entertain everyone. A fundamental attribute to his success is that almost anyone, without so much effort, can imitate his horse-riding dance moves. We can say that, currently, the Gangnam Style video has been the most parodied video of all times. You can watch some of the best parodies below.

When comparing PSY and Justin Bieber, we also thought it would be a good idea to analyze the likes/dislikes ratio through our Analytics PRO. If you look at the image above, you can see that although Bieber has more than 2 million more likes than PSY, he also has a significantly higher number of dislikes. Of the total interactions on his YouTube Channel, he only has 62.66% likes, whereas PSY has an incredible 92.89% of likes. Considering the number of views his video has, this is quite a success.

As already mentioned, the video now has over 990,000,000 views and we can assume that tomorrow, on the Mayan-predicted day of apocalypse, this video will cross the 1 BILLION view line! This is the first time in the history of YouTube and proves to be a memorable 24 hours for mankind everywhere.
