Facebook will include viral shares of Page posts into the Page’s People Talking About number. How it will effect the PTA graphs in Socialbakers Analytics?
Yesterday, Facebook announced that they will immediately begin including viral shares of Page posts into the Page’s People Talking About number.
This means that if you post on your Page and Jane re-shares that post, all the Likes, Comments, or Shares resulting from Jane’s re-share will be reflected into your Page’s People Talking About score. For this reason, you may notice that your People Talking About number will increase in the following days.
We will be monitoring this change and its effect on the People Talking About number here at Socialbakers.
Although the People Talking About number is visible on Facebook pages, and it is a 7-day metric that includes all the people that were interacting with your fan page or became a fan, we still recommend brands that they monitor the Engagement Rate from our Analytics as it better reflects evolving post quality.
See below a screenshot from our Socialbakers Analytics PRO:
Daily Interactions = Amount of Likes, Comments and Shares generated during the time period you select
Average Engagement Rate = As you can see, it reflects the size of the page and the Engagement Rate allows you to optimize and see how your page is evolving.
People Talking About = here you can see that whatever the Engagement Rate metric reflects the day later, the People Talking About metric reflects 3 days later:
