Frederic Colas from the Fullsix group is among one of the speakers we will be having at Engage 2013. He is also the Founder of the We Like the World Project. This project started the summer of 2012, when Colas’ family traveled around the world, using only the contacts they had through Facebook in order to find accommodation. With the money the Colas family saved and additional support, the project raised 100 000 USD to build a school for 200 children in Burkina Faso. This project was made successful with the help of over 10 000 Facebook friends, more than 3.5 million friends of friends, over 1 000 active supporters, and 52 guest families in 17 countries and 5 continents.
Danone’s Irene Meister, another guest speaker at our Engage 2013 will embark on this journey at the end of April. She will travel for seven months throughout New Zealand, the South Pacific, and the US, while always keeping the “Social through Social” motto in mind. With the help of additional donations and the money saved from friends’ accommodations, the We Like the World project aims to fund education for Cambodian girls. For those interested in Irene’s travels, she will be documenting her experiences on the “We Like the World” Facebook page.
