Socialbakers Introduces Facebook Page Listening

Facebook Pages make up a significant part of users’ News Feeds - and with access to one of the largest databases of Facebook Pages in the industry, Socialbakers clients can now listen in on Facebook Page mentions to discover trending topics and monitor conversations around their brands.

Facebook removed the ability to find individual user mentions of keywords due to privacy concerns back in April 2015, meaning that so many marketers who think they’re paying for social media listening are actually just spending money to monitor a few Twitter hashtags. Page mentions are just as important for brands - if not more so. Our recent study showed that a user’s News Feed is at least a quarter Page posts - meaning posts by Pages will likely be seen by a lot more people than a user mention. This is critical earned media space if your brand is being mentioned: in what light is it being portrayed, and how many people will see that mention? Additionally, the fact that 90% of social customer care has moved to private messaging within the last 18 months makes so much of what Listening used to be a bit obsolete.

Socialbakers Analytics and Socialbakers Builder users are now able to see, in addition to their Twitter mentions feeds, all the mentions of keywords and topics from Facebook Pages, thanks to the largest Facebook Page data-set in the industry.

Say a digital manager for Nike wanted to keep track of what was being said of their brand and how their hashtags were being used. They could add their keywords in seconds for both platforms, pick which language and country they were interested in and go:

ImageScroll through all the mentions and see which of the Pages mentioning their brand or using their hashtags have more Fans, and what is being said of them.

ImageThe NBC Chicago Page doesn’t have a huge following, but it is a mention of the brand in a news story and might be worth investigating and flagging to PR, before other sources pick it up.

ImageYou need integrated listening into your social media management and analytics tools. That way you can keep track in real-time of conversations around your brands as they happen and unfold and analyze listening data along with the rest of your insights.

Don’t miss out on Facebook Page listening - it’s a powerful addition to your social analytics and Twitter listening.
