Does your Fan Page have a personalized web address? Then how do you expect people to find you and share you with others? The Fan Page URL should appear in your marketing communication, on your company website and business cards!
Once your Page reaches more than 25 Likes you can register a Facebook web address. As an admin you will need to visit facebook.com/username to do so and by the way – this URL is living proof of how it should look like.
- Keep it simple, short, straightforward and easy to remember so that it’s easy to find and share with others. Plus it will look effective on your website or business card. For e.g. Victoria´s Secret Pink collection kept it simple by registering as facebook.com/vspink
- Get an address either closest to your business name or one that best describes your brand or service like for e.g. facebook.com/Starbucks
- In case your business name is long take advantage all of the alphanumeric characters (a-z, 0–9) or periods (“.”). You can make it easier to read and remember by using capital letters and separating words by periods, for e.g. the Converse All Star shoes can be found under facebook.com/ConverseAllStar
Make sure you choose your Fan Page address wisely because you will not be able to edit or transfer it once you set it up. Generic words are currently not available as Facebook web addresses which means you cannot register as facebook.com/sandwiches as long as your business name isn’t Sandwiches. Facebook encourages admins to create an URL identifying the name of their business.
