A project on rural women and adolescent girls in Haryana, the Haryana chapter of Manthan is an effort to understand villagers, especially women and adolescent girls` social, cultural and psychological problems which hinder their well being, flow and optimal human functioning. We try to evaluate the traditions and customs which facilitate or obstruct their well being. Subsequently, Purpose of this project is to promote facilitating traditions and demote obstructing traditions. This project is dealing with Haryanvi rural culture. This is self sponsored programme which is taking into account basically various therapeutic perspectives of psychology, such as psycho-education, Skinner’s cultural engineering, Bandura’s social modeling, emotional catharsis-projecting emotions in socially approved form, sharing one’s story, positive art therapy (Chilton and Wilkinson, 2009) and many more.
